European Union Certificates of Origin

In some countries, the condition for importing goods is the so-called presenting a Certificate of Origin. The purpose of the Certificate of Origin is solely to show the origin of the goods in order to act in accordance with customs or commercial requirements (e.g. opening letters of credit). The need of a Certificate of Origin in export can be checked from the European Union’s Access2Markets Database.

The certificate of origin issued by the Chamber of Commerce is a standard form used in trade between the European Union and third countries.

Internationally verified Certificates of Origin

Finnish Chambers of Commerce are accredited to be a part of ICC World Chambers Federation CO Accreditation Chain. This means that a third party (Customs, customer) have a possibility to verify the authenticity of Certificates of Origin online on the CO Verification Website either filling the fields required or scanning the QR code from Certificate on the verification website.
